Localista a Design Store

A month ago we partnered with the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel to transform an unused space into a design store. Our vision for this project was to develop a Puerto Rico Diseña store inside the Vanderbilt Hotel to serve as a cultural interface with travelers, foster local economic development and create a value chain centered on design. Every aspect of the store was curated to showcase Puerto Rican design and creative entrepreneurship. Through the financial support of Compañía Cervecera de Puerto Rico we were able to engage Armada and Constructo to design the space and build our furniture working with local resources and an awesome team of EAP design students so that almost every aspect of the shop is designed and made locally.

About

ABOUT Puerto Rico Diseña features independent designers, makers, collectives and local brands that make up the island’s thriving creative community. Founded in 2013, our mission is to inspire people through design to choose local products and foster creative entrepreneurship. We are inspired by people who do what they love and discovering new designers and products. We think small batch production and sustainability matter when it comes to design. We are driven by a big belief that this tiny island has some pretty outstanding people creating and innovating everyday and we want to share that with the world.   THE BEGINNING We started Puerto Rico Diseña for one simple reason, to make it easy for people to discover design and quality craftsmanship.
